lyrics
I took a ride rusty old time machine,
to summer 2000 my conscience was clean.
At nights me and Fali would get lost in the alley
and sunrise wake up on the beach.
2 bottles of cava with Evelyn and Barbara,
I worked through the summer and flew out to see her.
Stayed with her family,
took ‘shrooms at a party
and when I got back I started my degree.
So where is my life,
I do see it once or twice
And don’t forget when all this comes to an end,
I’m just an elevator boy.
Jump 12 months later the same elevator,
though we’d started a new band called “Hour Standard Romance”.
Played a few shows then we all came to blows,
just a video and a cd for posterity.
The sour taste of failure,
2 goths from Australia at the hotel Flamingo,
my friends’ old blue Twingo.
It’s not about nostalgia but some things do haunt you like Mary
with a tear running down her cheek.
So where is my life,
I catch glimpses once or twice
And don’t forget when all this comes to an end,
I’m just an elevator boy.
